- Wachau Gruner Vetliner "Hochrain Smaragd" by Gritsch Mauritiushof 2021 (V/O)$88.00
Wachau Gruner Vetliner "Hochrain Smaragd" by Gritsch Mauritiushof (100% Gruner Vetliner) 2021 (Vegan/Organic/Biodynamic) Smaragd (pronounced Sma-rocked and refers to the emerald green lizards found on terraces) is the highest quality category and the most powerful of all Gruner Vetliner wines. Pale golden yellow, silver glints. Subtle tropical fruit, delicate nuances of mango and papaya, a hint of orange blossom, and lovely exotic hints. Alluring bouquet. Juicy, creamy style, delicately fruit forward, a refined arc of acidity, marked by elegance and persistence superseded by a gentle apricot finish and saline-mineral reverberations.
- White Alsace Grand Cru Riesling Osterberg 2018 (V/O)$75.00
France Alsace region, "Riesling Grand Cru Osterberg", Cave du Ribeauville(100% Riesling) 2017 (Vegan/Organic) Ribeauville is France's oldest cooperative and owns many Grand Cru vineyards. With this Riesling the slightest notions of dark, bitter honey hover above ripe, red-apple fruit, along with spice, chalk and lanolin, indicative of a wine that is already evolving. The dry palate highlights all these flavors in turn, lit up by freshness and held by a taut, bright structure. This is a beautiful, statuesque wine full of complex, chalky notes. The absolutely clean and complex finish is long and a total joy!
- White Alsace Grand Cru Pinot Gris Gloeckelberg 2012 (V/O)$76.00Out of stock
France Alsace region, "Pinot Gris Grand Cru Gloeckelberg", Cave du Ribeauville(100% Pinot Gris) 2012 (Vegan/Organic) Ribeauville is France's oldest cooperative and owns many Grand Cru vineyards. We like the way this particular wine leans towards the fuller, more sensual side of Pinot Gris. It is mouth-coating and generous without being heavy; and there's a hint of sweetness which complements cheeses and richer dishes so well. Floral poached pear, yellow apple and honeyed earth swirl across the palette.
- White Alsace Grand Cru Gewurztraminer Pfersigberg 2016 (V/O)$76.00
France Alsace region "Gewurztraminer Grand Cru Pfersigberg", Cave de Ribeauvillé (100% Gewurztraminer) 2016 (Vegan/Organic) Ribeauville is France's oldest cooperative and owns many Grand Cru vineyards. And this "Gewurz." comes from Pfersigberg, on of the region's best vineyards. A classic floral bouquet of rose, geranium and lavender float above delicate dried fruits, setting the stage for a rich, lush palette accented with rose hip and apple. There's a perfect balance here of mild sweetness, gentle bitterness and freshness of fine acidity that lingers into the long finish.

- Red Burgundy Givry 1er Cru By Domaine Masse 2017$152.00
Chinon Couly Dutheil "Clos de l'Olive" 1989. Direct from the estate! Made from 100-year-old Cabernet Franc vines, growing on unique limestone and clay soil, this wine is dense and extremely complex. A magnificent example of a fine Loire red from what is arguably Chinon's greatest producer. Great aging potential, too. Full bodied and concentrated, a great vintage for Clos de L'Olive with abundant fruit, sweet rich mouthfeel and ripe juicy tannins. Very impressive wine for drinking well into its third decade. These wines evolve into the pinnacle of elegance, with haunting aromas of rich plummy fruit, sweet herbs, spice and earth, yet still very fresh, vibrant, and complex with intensity and length unmatched by all but the top properties in Bordeaux. We can't recommend them highly enough, though you should let the older wines rest at least 4-6 weeks before drinking them, as they may have literally just got off the boat.
- Red Bordeaux Saint Estephe By Phalan Segur 2018$145.00
Smith Haut Laffites 2012. The opaque bluish-purple 2012 Smith Haut Lafite offers up notes of licorice, graphite, blueberry and blackberry fruit, a medium to full-bodied mouthfeel, stunningly ripe, velvety tannins and a long, long finish. This is another sensational effort from the Cathiards that is perfectly balanced, complex, super-rich and pure. Drink it over the next 20-25 years. This is another great turn-around effort that dated from the acquisition of this once moribund estate in 1990, by Daniel and Florence Cathiard. They continue to do an exemplary job with both white and red.

- Red Bordeaux Margaux By Dufort Vivens 2015$208.00
Clos St Denis Grand Cru 2014. Domaine Michel Magnien has evolved into a Burgundy producer of a singular style and philosophy from their cellars located in the village of Morey-Saint-Denis. First mentioned as far back as 1120, fourteenth century Morey was a place of asylum for Cistercian monks who appeared to have possessed numerous vineyards and even a winery by 1306. The appellation extends from Chambolle-Musigny to Gevrey-Chambertin and covers around 148 hectares, 80% of which are planted with grapes for red wines. It was cited for the first time in 1367, but its origins are said to date back to the 11th century. This clos belonged to the canons of the Saint Denis de Vergy Chapter. It is said that the monks have been cultivating vines there since 1203.
- Red Bordeaux Chateaux Malartic Pessac Leognan 2016$149.00
Chateaux Lynch Bages 2012. The Lynch Bages 2012 is a blend of 71% Cabernet Sauvignon, 26% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Petit Verdot picked between 12th and 18th October and is being raised in 75% new oak just before the rains. It has a very attractive bouquet with crisp blackberry, sous-bois and graphite aromas that are very controlled. No frills here, but it does not need them. The palate is medium-bodied with taut tannins and again, crisp acidity. I like the line here – nicely focused with a grainy finish. Very fine.
- Red Rhone Cote Rotie "Chateau Montlys" By Semaska 2014$249.00
Chinon Couly Dutheil "Clos de L'Echo" 2000 (Sustainable). Dutheil "Clos de L'Echo" is undeniably one of the finest estates of Chinon. The Domaine's masterpiece, the Clos de l'Echo, lies within this calcareous clay soil and is the stuff of legend. This walled vineyard and it's castle earned it's nomenclature from the echo sent back by the castle walls. Once owned by the great French satirist Francois Rabelais and his family, the vineyard was purchased in 1952 by the Couly-Dutheil family and re-planted the following year. The Clos de l'Echo is a wine of
- Red Piemont Barolo "Tre Ciabot" by Cascina Ballarin 2013 (S)$159.00
Red Barolo "Tre Ciabot" by Cascina Ballarin (100% Nebbiolo) 2013 (Sustainable) At Cascina Ballarin they grow grapes in their own vineyards in La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, Novello and produce wine in their own cellar. They named this Barolo “Tre Ciabot” because the Nebbiolo grapes for this wine come from the three main vineyards, at whose centre is a small house called “Ciabot” in the Piedmontese dialect. Therefore “Three vineyards”, “Three towns”, “THREE CIABOT”. The final quality of their wines is at the core of all operations, along with the respect of the environment and nature and the employment of sustainable practices. This Barolo has a rich and elegant floral bouquet of rose and violet. It also has a fine palate, lightly tannic, persistent and spicy.
- Red Piemont Barbaresco Bricco Faset by La Spinona 2013 (O/N)$172.00
- Red Piemont Barolo Ceretto Prapo DOCG 2013$210.00
Barolo Ceretto Prapo DOCG 2013 This wine takes its name from the prestigious Prapò vineyard which was one of the first properties owned by the Ceretto family in Barolo. This vineyard has one of the best exposures on the eastern slopes of Serralunga d'Alba, a world-renowned commune within Barolo. Following a fermentation in stainless steel tanks, which is induced by native yeasts, the wine is aged for a period of 12 months in 300L French oak barrels (50% new; 50% second passage). The wine is then transferred to very large oak casks where it continues to refine before bottling. Tasting Notes: Garnet in color with ruby red highlights, the wine has an expressive nose with aromas of red cherries, red plums, dried rose petals, sweet spices, and vanilla. On the palate, the wine is vibrant and harmonious with refreshing acidity balanced by firm, ripe tannins. Red fruits mingle with lightly perfumed floral flavors leading to a long, impressive finish.

- Red Rioja Gran Reserva By Vina Arana 2014$108.00
Mendoza region "Evolucion II", Zemlia (45% Malbec, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10%Bonarda, 10%Petit Verdot) 2011 In ancient places "zemlia' means both "earth" and "land", soul of a nation. This young winery created in 2005 has since then produced many wines that received many awards. This Evolucion II is an excellent interpretation of a Bordeaux blend, but coming from high altitude vineyards in the well regarded Uco valley. The intense violet color sets the stage for classic aromas of black current, graphite mineral and green bell pepper. Full bodied on the palate with earthy black plum fruit, there is a sappy acidity keeping things fresh while medium-tannins round out nicely in the finish. An amazing value wine to be enjoyed after 3 years but that has a potential ageing of over 10 years!

- Oregon State Pet Nat by Quady North NV (V/S/N)$70.00
Oregon State Pet Nat by Quady North (75% Vermentino/25% Orange Muscat) NV (Vegan/Sustainable/Natural) Petillant-Naturel (Pet-Nat) is a very old style of making sparkling wines. In contrast with Methode Champenoise, in which dry wine is first aged in barrel, and then re-inoculated before bottling (where the fermentation continues and produces carbon dioxide), Pet-Nats are bottled before the primary fermentation finishes, effectively only weeks after picking. Bright pear and citrus notes. Moderately persistent bubbles, which are well retained at cold temperatures. Slightly off dry, with refreshing acidity.

- Oregon State Pinot Gris Skin Contact Orange wine by Keeler Estate 2019 (V/O/B/)$48.00
Oregon State Pinot Gris Skin Contact Orange wine by Keeler Estate (100% Pinot Gris) 2019 (Vegan/Organic/Biodynamic/ Natural) Keeler Estate, a Demeter-Certified biodynamic vineyard, is located in the Willamette Valley of Oregon, with the snow capped Cascade Mountains to the East and the spectacular Coast of the Pacific Ocean to the West. You can call this wine a rosé, or more properly an orange wine. It's got a whole lot of color and leans hard into oxidation. Half was whole-cluster fermented and it was done in concrete, so it's about as astringently dry as a young wine can be. Fans of orange wine will appreciate the details of dried citrus rind and the length of the finish, but don't look for any fresh fruit flavors.
