Our lentil soup is my mom's recipe. This is how we did lentil when I was a kid. It combines the savory flavor of cumin blended with fresh veggies and red lentils. We garnish it with our house sumac and a little parsley. Its gluten free unless you add the crispy onions and croutons that come on the side.

My moms traditional way of making shatta. it spicy fresh red chili peppers in a chili oil we make in-house. Put.It.On.Everything

Hot like a Moroccan. Although we are not Moroccan, we love this spicy dip and San Diegans love their spice. Nevermind a keg stand, turn me upside down and get this harissa in my mouth.

Cucumber and Tomato is the base. We drizzle a vinaigrette on there as well as some tahini. The salad is a great accompaniment to a side of falafel or pita.

This is a locally made Baklawa in East County. It combines sheets of filo dough, pistachios and simple syrup then is baked to perfection. Why is it called "Baklawa" and not "Baklava?" Baklawa is the pronunciation in Arabic. No, it's not a typo ;-)

Please allow 12 minutes for us to bake your knafe. We make sheet trays of knafe at family gathers and its a staple dessert for us. Our knafe combines course filo dough finely chopped and colored orange. The middle is filled with sweet cheese that melts when this knafe is baked to order. We top it with our house simple syrup and pistachio. If you don't try it, the falafel crew is happy to indulge any day of the week.
