We named this blend after Kaldi's dog, whose important historic role leading the flock often gets overlooked. Made in the shade
All our coffees (like all the best coffees in the world) are grown under shade trees, which typically provide a second crop or source of food for farming families and homes to migrating birds. Large estates sometimes sacrifice shade trees to plant more coffee - in some places this has damaged bird populations. We named this dark roasted heavy-bodied blend Made in the Shade to highlight the importance of shade trees. Taste notes: Smokey & Nutty with a Caramel finish

We roast and toast this like they do on the West Coast: lighter to bring out the flavor without adding too much char taste that would over-power the beans' natural richness or mild acidity-ness. Taste notes of dark chocolate, red plum and black cherry.
A delicious and well-balanced cup with all the taste without the caffeine and light roasted. Our decafs are made using a “Mountain Water Process,” which requires about 15 hours to remove caffeine without the use of chemical solvents. As with all of our coffees, it is 100% organically grown - part of our expanded definition of quality. Tasting notes: dried fruit and honey.
