Crystalline and focused, this vintage of Calvarino magnifies the distinct aromas of Soave's volcanic soil with hints of smoke and flint. As the wine opens, aromas of lemon oil, white peach, jasmine and green apple skin lift from the glass. The wine is 3D in the glass with vertical and horizontal flavors filling the mouth while fresh acidity lifts the palate. Overall, Gerard Boulay's “terre blanche” vineyards produce some of the most distinctive and soil-inflected Sauvignon Blancs in the Loire. These are gorgeous, highly complex wines that are a clear step above "regular" Sancerre, and can age easily for 10-20 years or more.

Chardonnay from South Africa’s Western Cape. This wine offers bright flavors of lemon zest, green apple, and white peach, with a touch of floral notes and a hint of minerality. The wine’s crisp acidity and smooth texture make it an excellent pairing for seafood, poultry, or creamy pasta dishes. Capensis’s commitment to crafting wines that reflect the unique terroir of the Cape Winelands is evident in the finesse and balance of this Chardonnay.

Domaine Thibert, the producer of this wine, has a noteworthy reputation in the Mâconnais region. The wines from Domaine Thibert are praised for capturing the ripe fruit flavors characteristic of the Mâcon region, while also exhibiting a mineral and acid grip that allows them to age well. This balance makes Thibert's wines comparable in quality to those from more renowned regions like Puligny or Meursault.

Perhaps you’ve heard of the ‘Gang of Four?’ It was a nickname lovingly bestowed to the most noteworthy winemakers of Cru Beaujolais—Jean Foillard, Marcel Lapierre, Jean-Paul Thévenet, and Guy Breton. Enter Alex Foillard—son of Jean Foillard—who now runs his own show in the world of Beaujolais.

This sophisticated red wine captivates with bright red cherry and wild strawberry notes, complemented by subtle hints of earth and forest floor characteristic of Oregon terroir. The wine's silky texture and balanced acidity make it perfect for pairing with grilled salmon, mushroom risotto, or roasted poultry.

The 2022 Pinot Noir La Grive Bleue is distinctly savory. It opens with an herbal thrust of rosemary and sage before evolving into wild blueberries, wilted violets and flowery underbrush. This is youthfully lean and compact, washing across the palate with silken textures and a refined blend of red berries and spice. It tapers off with tense tannins, a firm acid spine and hints of tangerine, leaving the taster completely enamored.

A beautiful and elagant Savagny-Les-Beaune

A very expressive nose with aromas of crushed raspberry, sassafras and violets jumps from the glass of this Pinot. The palate is layered and juicy, with flavors of fresh, ripe strawberry, Amarena cherry and cocoa mingling for over a minute. It's a wine built for richer game-bird courses, or mushroom-laden pasta. Caves Jean Bourdy is one of the oldest domaines in the Jura. Created in the late 1400’s, the Domaine is now run by brothers Jean-Phillipe and Jean-François, the 15th generation of winemakers at this estate. The Bourdy Jura Rouge is a blend of Pinot Noir, Trousseau and Poulsard from high elevation alpine vineyards with various exposures. This wine really takes the drinker to its place of origin. Little red flowers, sweet herbs, perfume, tiny alpine strawberries, soil and stone with weightless extract and a refreshing airy quality. Incredibly complex and captivating, this is the kind of wine you didn’t realize you’ve been longing for.

*Very Limited* The 2021 Malbec Inseparable, from El Monasterio in Gualtallary, Uco Valley, spent a winter in concrete vats. Purple in color. The enticing primary nose presents crushed plum, cherry, violets and faint lavender undertones. The tea-like palate has a juicy, refreshing, taut flow that delivers alluring fruity and floral flavors before the lengthy finish. The 2021 is an oxymoron in a glass: a delicate, nuanced, but raw, high-altitude wine. Vinous - 95 pts.

Want to try something rare and unique from the mountains of Northern Italy. Here you go. Light red-tinged mahogany with violet highlights, Gries has an intense aroma of bitter chocolate and cherries. Full-bodied with silky tannins, it coats the mouth with sultry layers of crème caramel, blackberry and pipe tobacco. The finish lingers with leather and spice. Pair with barbecue or try with ginger-roasted pork loin with fennel and dried fruit.

The authentic one. The grapes for the Lagrein Riserva Abtei Muri grow in two monastery vineyards situated in the historical quarter of Gries-Moritzing. The wine is the product of decades of living passion for Lagrein and is doubtless one of the most successful and also most authentic interpretations of this native variety. Pale yellow color with golden hues. Good release of tiny bubbles rising in trains which ends up forming a cheerful crown of mousse. Very elegant sparkling Cava, with fruit notes and typical nuances of aging in bottle. In the mouth, it is very nice, with slightly sweet points and final apple reminiscences. A blend of the 2015 and 2014 vintages, Egly's emblematic NV Brut Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Les Crayères was disgorged this year with only one gram per liter dosage. Bursting with aromas of mirabelle plum, Anjou pear and green apple mingled with notions of freshly baked bread, honeycomb and praline, it's full-bodied, layered and multidimensional, its satiny attack segueing into a deep, layered mid-palate of striking texture and concentration. A blend of old vine Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from Ambonnay, this expressive and nuanced Champagne offers both richness and precision. Malolactic fermentation was blocked, and the wine aged entirely in barrel, or which 10% were new. Aging on the lees for 96 months, this was bottled with dosage of 2g/L. Château Le Puy is an estate located atop a rare high hill on Bordeaux’ right bank; it is exceptionally rare in that that it's in its 14th generation of consecutive ownership by the Amoreau family. That's not the only thing that makes this estate rare: these are classically-styled wines made with fully natural methods; certified biodynamic in their vineyards, all fermentations are native; no fining and filtering, and never SO2 before fermentation is complete. This wine is around 85% Merlot, with Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon completing the blend: fermented in concrete and is aged for two years in neutral wood. Le Puy is glorious proof that famous châteaus aren't necessarily where the real wines are in this famous region!

Hands down one of the best under the radar Cabernets in Napa and Sonoma. Made by the great, Francoise Peschon this wine is truly a delight! The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon begins with a deep garnet color that leads to aromas of dark and red fruits and underlying forest floor. On the palate, blackberry and tart blueberry integrate with dark chocolate, dried sage, and fresh herbs. Balance is achieved between the energy and fine tannins and the deep, powerful, age-worthy nature of this wine.

The 2004 Barolo is a lovely effort. It exhibits wonderful balance in its rich, sweet expression of the vintage, with all of its elements in perfect balance. Made in a bold, racy style, it reveals notable depth and a long, inviting fin ish. this is one of the sleeper wines of the vintage and offers superb quality for the money.

Starting with the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon TERES, this brilliant Cabernet saw a long 30- to 40-day maceration and was brought up in 70% new French oak. It has a huge perfume of blueberries and flowers, with an almost garrigue and dried herb quality coming through with time in the glass. Just about perfect on the palate, with a layered, full-bodied mouthfeel, impeccable balance, and ultra-fine tannins, this rock star of a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon shows the sexy style of the 2015 vintage while staying balanced and elegant. The 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Elevation 1147 is a superstar and has a deep, concentrated, elegant, old-school style not far from what's achieved at Dominus and Spottswoode with their ultra-classic style, yet with its mountain terroir austerity and obvious structure front and center. Arneis is a grape which was almost extinct but has made a comeback in recent years thanks to the hard work of some producers in the northwestern corner of Italy which is better known for its Nebbiolo based reds such as Barolo. Flavors and aromas of orange blossom, honeysuckle and almond. Enjoy chilled on its own, with light appetizers or creamy risotto.

This 2014 vintage showcases “notes of charcoal, graphite, blackberry and blueberry fruit, forest floor and spring flowers. The wine is rich and easy to smell, taste and consume, given the low acidity and silky tannins.” 800 cases were produced of this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Philippe Melka continues to oversee the winemaking for Gandona.
