Limited Series Features
- Modales Nouveau 2023$18.00
This year’s Nouveau is the essence of Glou-Glou juice! Full of vivacious tart raspberry and cranberry, it's so light you’ll wonder if you’re really drinking wine. Made from Zweigelt versus Beaujolais' principle grape, Gamay, we warned you there were a lot of twists! The wine's structure is ready to let loose and party, and we're all here for the celebration! The grapes were picked nice and early to keep the acid's dance moves fresh and the alcohol down low. Fresh off of Carbonic Maceration to press where the juice was fermented with native yeasts in stainless-steel at low temps to preserve the fragrant aromatics. This wine was bottled without a single sprinkle of added sulfites. What a bright, light, fun, chillable, & totally crushable Nouveau - a perfect pairing with Thanksgiving dishes and the flavors of autumn.
- Testalonga I am the Ninja Sparkling Chenin Blanc$39.00
Yummy & fresh sparkling Chenin Blanc from Swartland, South Africa with super fresh fruit flavors of green apple and white pear and a light, fine, creamy fizz.
- Dom Luneau Papin Le Verger Muscadet$28.00
We think this is the best Muscadet we have tasted in a long time with it's luxuriously silky texture, round and pleasing with a salty minerality from the rocky soil overlooking the ocean tickling on the forefront of the palate, with notes of preserved lemon, subtle orchard fruit and the slightest hint of fresh-baked bread from the "sur lie" (lees) ageing. Balanced and mind-blowing for it's style.
- Domaine Lupier La Dama$58.00
The pinnacle of Grenache-based wine in Spain: 'La Dama' is a stunning fusion of an Atlantic climate, mountain viticulture, and spectacular soils which produces a wild expression of the grape, yet it is refined with soft tannin and the finesse of its makers. This extraordinary wine is now a rare gem. Its creators, the brilliant duo of Enrique Basarte and Elisa Úcar, have bid farewell to the production, making it a truly limited edition that must not be missed.

- Alma de Cattleya Chardonnay$31.00
Born in Colombia, Bibiana Gonzalez-Rave knew she was going to be a winemaker at the age of 14, and set out to do just that. Her wine education in France is reflected in this elegant Chardonnay that spends 15 months aging on the lees in French oak. The fresh notes of white pear, jasmine, honey, melon and lemon curd pair beautifully with the caramel popcorn, rich texture and body that come from the time spent in barrels.
- Carriage House Debutant Pet-Nat Honey Apple Wine$17.00
Using only Michigan apples and fermented using the natural yeast from the apples' skins, winemaker Kyla Evans took inspiration from a recipe by famed chef Jacques Pépin to craft her debut wine and the result is pretty great. This would make the perfect aperitif, and could even stand up to a full meal. Consider taking a detour from wine the next time you're looking to pick up something special to drink.
- Clos Fornelli "La Robe d'Ange" Blanc$30.00
Full of texture, minerality, freshness, and quite possibly the hint of banana pudding in there somewhere, this is a great example of what Corsican wines have to offer.
- De Vinosalvo Santario Shiraz Maremma$44.00
Shiraz finds itself perfectly at home in Tuscany, and this expression is a perfect blend of smoky, gamey Rhône syrah and richly-fruited, dried tobacco Barossa Shiraz. Full-bodied, dark-fruited, and with 7 years of age on it now, some chocolate and spice starting to show as well. There's only been 2500 of these bottles made so scoop one up before you can't anymore!
- Detroit Vineyards Field of Dreams$35.00
The Cabernet Franc makes itself known with raspberry and blueberry notes, while the Merlot brings blackberry jam, black cherry and fresh tarragon to the party. Some vanilla and spice from the oak aging really brings this wine together. While Michigan wine is never going to be inky or "bold" because of our climate, this wine has some nice heft to it and great structure.
- Domaine Rimbert Vin Orange$23.00
The unexpected combination of Grenache Blanc, Marsanne and Vermentino soaks on their skins for 7 days, which makes for a real looker of a wine. Fortunately the good looks are backed up by beautiful aromatics and flavors of peach, red apple, basil and white pepper; so we're talking about the full package here. For best results, drink this with just a slight chill
- Jean Paul Brun FRV 100 Sparkling$26.00
- La Kiuva Rouge de Vallee$23.00
30% split between four native grape varieties, the remaining 70% of the Rouge de Vallée is made up of Picotendro - a local clone of Piedmont's Nebbiolo. Any fan of mountain wines - I'm looking at you, Savoie/Jura/Austria/Swiss/Alto Adige fans - should jump on this, and for anyone previously unacquainted with the genre - this is a great "gateway" mountain wine.
- Lo-Fi Wines Cabernet Franc Coquelicot Vineyard$33.00
Lo-Fi Wines was started with the goal of making crushable wines with as little human intervention as possible, not that you'd need us to tell you that, once you try this beautiful example of how good Cabernet Franc can be from California.
- Masseria Celentano Cacc'e Mmitte di Lucera Ricaccio Puglia$22.00
- Matyas Blaufrankisch Frankovka Slovakia$25.00
This wine, from the minimal intervention-minded Mátyás is an excellent example of both the way Blaufrankisch can transmit a sense of place and how it can develop over time. Of all the Blaufrankisch descriptors out there, we like "brooding" to describe this bottle - notes of spicy dried fruit intermingled with wild mushroom and earth, and a density and body that honestly took us by surprise.
- Pearl Morisette Irreverence White$48.00
A world-class producer only about a 3 hours drive away from us in Detroit, Pearl Morissette makes this natural wine, a blend of Chardonnay, Riesling, Gewürtztraminer. An incredibly complex, but unbelievably elegant wine, where every grape has a clear voice in the glass. Energetic acidity, exotic tropical fruit, briney salinity and a little bit of wet hay upon first being opened; this is another wine that changes character as it warms up. We like it at cellar temp, where notes of honey and perfumed fruit and flowers start to show.
- Pellegrino Grillo Il Salinaro$28.00
- Pierre Jean Villa Syrah Vin de France$48.00
It's possible to sense Pierre Jean's background making wine in Burgundy when trying this wine - there's an elegance reminiscent of high-level Cru Burgundy that mingles with the raw Syrah goodness that draws fans to Northern Rhône wine, and it's pretty wonderful. Somehow both fresh and floral and intense and meaty, this wine's a banger.
- Project K The GV Gruner Veltliner$30.00
This Grüner Veltliner gets the added benefit of a small amount of skin contact - not quite enough to call this an orange wine - giving it not only a beautiful golden hue but added body and an emphasis on Grüner's more exciting characteristics - such as honeydew melon, parsnip and white pepper.
- Santa Julia El Burro Malbec Natural$24.00
Deriving its name and label from Julia Zuccardi's brother's childhood animal he would play with, this unique Malbec is made with indigenous yeasts, no intervention and no added sulfites or filtering. The resulting wine is juicy, fresh and pops with plummy goodness, baking spices, cooked dark cherries and a little white pepper too.
- SHED Wine Tickle Tickle Riesling Pet Nat$33.00
Tickle Tickle is 100% Riesling, fermented on its skins for three full weeks, and bottled without filtering. Refreshing, bright and herbaceous with notes of lemongrass, fresh lime and juniper, Shed recommends you drink this as the sun is going down on a warm afternoon, when you aren't quite ready for that glass of red yet.
- Tenuta Terraviva Pecorino d’Abruzzo$25.00
Known for being crisp, aromatic and an excellent conveyor of terroir; this particular example of Pecorino shows notes of dried peaches, dried flowers and herbs, notably anise seed.
- Turnbull Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley$70.00
Ripe strawberry and red cherry notes show, thanks to the vineyard surrounding the winery itself. The unique landscape of the Amoenus Vineyard in Calistoga produces grapes with perfectly balanced acidity and a minerality rare for the area. The wine is rounded out with plush ripe dark fruit and spice box notes provided by both the Leopoldina and Fortuna Vineyards (Fun fact, the pre-prohibition Fortuna vineyard was originally sourced by Christian Brothers, before they decided to exclusively produce brandy). The end result is a perfectly-balanced example of Napa Valley Cabernet, and probably a steal for the price.
- Vostinic Klasnic Skrlet White Croatia$23.00
winery VK (Voštinić-Klasnić) is one of the leading champions for the grape, and along with just one or two other winemaking families, is responsible for keeping the grape alive during the Yugoslavian period, when many local grapes were ripped out in favor of more well-known varieties. We owe them a lot of thanks, because the grape drinks exactly like the bottle's label would lead you to believe - pineapple, peaches, apples, a little bit of dried herbs - have this wine on hand for when you need a little splash of summer in your life this winter.
- World's Apart Blewitt Springs Grenache$48.00
Compared to the serious, Spanish-like Grenache from the hot Barossa Valley to the north, this example from McLaren Vale really shows the effects of the cooling winds that characterize the region. Those breezes express themselves with a brightness and freshness in the wine, and one could even possibly close their eyes and guess this to be a super-ripe Pinot Noir. Crunchy red fruit, exotic spice, fresh red flowers and hint of freshly-tilled earth basically explode from the glass. If there's another expression of Grenache out there like this, we haven't met it yet. Come say hello to your new favorite wine region.
- Chateau Bel-Air Eiffel Graves de Vayres Heritiers Gustave Eiffel$46.00
Seeing as how the Chateau has been in the Eiffel family for over a century, it turns out the family did more than just produce iconic monuments, as this beautiful Cabernet Franc-dominant Bordeaux can attest to. Black fruit, spices and cocoa are supported by a rich mouthfeel and a great tannic structure. This is a fantastic cold winter night wine.
- Elena Walch Gewurztraminer$32.00
Flowers, spices and tropical fruit burst from the glass - you don't need to get your nose in the glass for this one. The full body, in conjunction with the rich aromatics, make this the perfect aperitif wine, standing in nicely for an Aperol spritz or sparkling wine, but will elevate almost any savory appetizers as well as grilled fish and poultry.
- Quinta Dos Murcas Minas Douro Red$26.00
The "Minas" on the label is both the vineyard name and the Portuguese word for "spring", as in "freshwater spring", and refers to the five natural springs that are spread out among the vines, helping to cool the vines. This neat geographical feature is one of the reasons for the wonderful freshness of this wine made up of typically heavy, brooding varieties. Ripe black cherry, balsamic and spice are all supported by a bright freshness, before finishing with just the right amount of grippy tannins.

- Bosman Generation 8 Chenin Blanc$19.00
This Chenin Blanc opens with zest and mineral aromas, much like a Loire Valley Sancerre, although this is no Sauvignon Blanc. This is a dry and quaffable style with notes of pear and lemon zest rounded out by a touch of Grenache Blanc for a little bit of palate weight, Viognier for added floral aromas (honeysuckle aromas), and Vermentino for richer citrus notes and minerality. An easy drinker, we suggest stocking up on this one for the summertime.
